Module content and teaching

Principal aims

The course aims to present, mainly though substantial practical experience, the design methodology of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) and Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS).

Principal learning outcomes

By the end of the module the student should be able to: understand the principles and processes involved in the implementation of a VLSI circuits and MEMS of moderate complexity; demonstrate the practical skills of using typical modern Computer Aided Design software for this task.

Timetabled teaching activities

Autumn. This module includes 15 hours of lectures and 12 hours of laboratory sessions.Required self-study: 48 hours
