These artworks are the result of discussion between the artists and members of the Engineering department. Working together with the help of a naturalist, Dalziel and Scullion carefully selected images for the light boxes and shot the films focusing on natural phenomena which they felt connected with the research themes of the department. The graphics and sound were then included to provide an additional layer of interest and further draw out the associations that the artists were making.

They chose Birnam Wood in Perthshire, made famous by Shakespeare’s Macbeth, as their location.
