Seated Female Nude by Henri Gaudier-Brzeska

Seated Female Nude by Henri Gaudier-Brzeska

Before his tragically early death Gaudier-Brzeska had produced drawings and paintings of extraordinary talent and originality. His brilliance as a reputable artist was respected throughout Europe. In 1916 Ezra Pound declared that "A great spirit has been among us and a great artist has gone. Neither the man nor the artist had shown any trace of failure."

This piece is a simple ink drawing on watercolour paper, the subject matter is a full figured nude in a seated pose.
