Born: 1904. Died: 1988. Nationality: British.

Robin Tanner was born in 1904.  He was a radical educationalist who stressed the importance of studying nature, arts, crafts and poetry, believing that they were essential elements for the development of both teachers and children.  In 1935 he became an HM inspector of schools.  He studied art and etching at evening classes at Goldsmith's School of Art and his love of the countryside formed the inspiration for much of his artwork.
