Number Two by William Pye

Number Two by William Pye

This screenprint may have begun as a working drawing for a sculpture, it certainly contains shapes and structures which are familiar in Pye's three-dimensional work. The shades of blue and grey are cold and industrial, echoing the metallic nature of Pye's sculptures and the domed shape and the steps leading up to it, are architectural references which are again exploring the dynamics between an object and the space it occupies. Pye's screenprint is effectively bridging the different artistic genres of painting and sculpture.
