Inclusion Learning

We are committed to creating a culture of inclusion, where diversity is recognised, understood, and valued. By providing diversity and inclusion learning and communication programmes, we hope to engage with students and staff on realising the benefits that diversity and inclusion brings.

It is important for learners to refresh their inclusion training and knowledge every few years, as legislation, terminology, and best practice progress regularly. Which is why we have made available inclusion training courses that will be relevant and engaging for all staff, and which will support continuous learning and discussion on these important issues.

Our core inclusion training programmes are:

Warwick Principles and Social Inclusion

This e-learning course communicates your rights and responsibilities as a member of staff at Warwick and how we can create a working and learning environment where everyone feels welcome and safe to be themselves, everyone is treated with dignity and respect, and there is equal opportunity for everyone to reach their full potential. The course will take 45-60 minutes to complete.

GoodCourse - Microaggressions

This email course is developed by GoodCourse – experts in engaging inclusion training, which is relatable and not overly technical. Staff will receive bite-sized modules throughout the year, so that learning is continuous, not a one off. The four modules cover EDI fundamentals, harassment prevention, conscious inclusion, and micro-aggressions. Each module will taking less than 10 minutes to complete.

Advance HE - Introduction to ED&I

This e-learning course created by experts at Advance HE uses true stories from students and staff. The two modules cover 'the basics' (what is discrimination, unacceptable behaviours) and 'beyond the law' (taking action, being an ally). A Personal Learning Journal will help you further reflect on information presented. Each module will take 25-45 minutes to complete.

    Queering University

The Queering University programme supports staff and students to develop, implement, share and sustain queer pedagogies and perspectives through training, events, and a digital library of resources to encourage teaching and learning, pastoral, and other practices that are inclusive of LGBTQUIA+ people in the classroom and wider university settings.
