Minor Works

The Accommodation Review Group has responsibility for the scrutiny and approval of bids for Minor Works. A letter is sent to Chairs of Department in the Autumn Term, from the Head of Projects, to ask them to advise the Estates Office of projects for the following academic year that are essential to the academic function of their department. The Minor Works budget is also used by the Accommodation Review Group to carry out building work required in order to achieve the annual settlement of accommodation with departments.  Prioritised bids are requested by the Estates Office and costs are estimated by the Building Surveyor.  The Accommodation Review Group meets with representatives from Estates in the Spring Term to make recommendations of projects to be approved.  Decisions on Minor Works bids are final with no right of appeal.
