Terms of Reference

Agreed by the Senate on 7 July 2010 (Minute 107(a)/09-10):

(i) to be the University's primary source of strategic advice and expertise on e-learning and technology supported learning, including in relation to sector developments and the University's position relative to other institutions;

(ii) to advise and make recommendations on e-learning and technology supported learning to inform teaching, learning, assessment and IT policy and strategy;

(iii) to make recommendations for University funding and resource allocation priorities relating to e-learning and technology supported learning;

(iv) to review e-learning support services provided by the University, including IT Services, the Library and LDC, in consultation with academic departments;

(v) to disseminate good practice in e-learning and technology supported learning;

(vi) to encourage development and innovation through external funding sources.

The e-Learning Steering Group reports to the Information Policy & Strategy Committee and to the Academic Quality and Standards Committee.
