Can no longer save files to the root of /local

The '/local' partition has been restructured to give each user a local home directory with permissions already set accordingly, each user also has their own temporary file location on this partition which is purged on boot. This makes file permissions more intuitive, but means you can no longer write to the root of the mount. There is a "public" folder which works similar to the old '/local' where all users of the computer can create files and decide their own permissions. For more information please see here
