Show or hide pages in the local navigation menu
The horizontal navigation menu is the main method for finding your way around a SiteBuilder website. We refer to it as the ‘local navigation’ because the menu's scope is constrained to the current website – for example, IT Services – rather than the entire University website.
The first row displays top-level sections and persists throughout the site, with sub-pages in the second row:
Pages are visible in the navigation by default. Occasionally though, it's useful to not show pages in the menu – for example, when you provide a different means of navigation in the page content itself. Note that hiding a page in the menu does not prevent visitors from accessing a page. To control access, restrict view permissions.

Show or hide multiple pages
This method is useful to specify the show/hide property for multiple pages that sit at the same level in your site structure – for example, the top-level sections immediately beneath your home page.
- Browse to the page above the pages you wish to show or hide.
- Go to Edit > More, then select the Sub-pages tab.
-
You can see a list of pages below the current page. The open eye open and closed eye struck out eye icons denote whether or not the page is visible in the local navigation menu. Select the icons to show or hide the respective pages.
- Select Done.
