The Learning Development Centre offers a range of learning and development support opportunities to Research Active Staff at Warwick, led by Sandy Sparks.

This support incorporates:

  • An extensive programme of events/workshops

  • 1 - 1 support in key areas of your research and career progression

  • Funding to facilitate research and career development opportunities

  • Online resources highlighting best practice and ideas for your development

  • A monthly e-Newsletter detailing new possibilities

The Learning and Development Centre offers a wide range of workshops, training courses and development programmes for Research Active Staff, which can be found on our Events Calendar.


In addition to events developed and run by LDC we also aim to keep research staff informed about:

  • events run by research colleagues and supported by LDC

  • broader activities across Warwick relevant to research active staff

  • news of opportunities outside the university

4 Resource Bank

The Resource Bank is a repository holding a range of materials to help in your devleopment and career as a researcher. It contains event reports, research guides, case studies, video's and presentation files to support best practise.


The Resource Bank is easily searchable using keywords across three key themes:

5 Funding Opportunities

In addition to the programme of events and individual support, the Learning & Development Centre has secured funding to support Research Active Staff activities for developing engagement, impact, career and leadership.

We also aim to keep research staff informed of Funding Opportunities for Research Active Staff, nationally and internationally, when they become available. This include Research Support Services (RSS , International Office and Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS)

research.pngResearch is often individual and can be isolating in nature. The Learning & Development Centre aims to support the research community and inform research active staff of networking opportunities across the university by providing:

  • practical support for researcher career development

  • time and space for discussion and collaboration

  • information on available networks and advice on setting up new networks
