Plan your visit

The Library is a hub of activity at the heart of campus. Sixth form students visiting the Library are often amazed by what we have to offer and are excited to see a real life glimpse of university students in action! The Library is a welcoming and friendly place for students to study, discuss work in groups or break for coffee with friends.

You are welcome to visit the Library as a sixth form student to browse and photocopy print materials. To do this you need to register for a reference pass. Due to licencing restrictions, unfortunately you won’t be able to borrow books or access e-resources, but you can still find lots of relevant information on our shelves.

Get a reference pass

Reference passes are free of charge and can be used for unlimited access to the Library between 08:30-21:30, Monday to Sunday. On your first visit go to the Welcome Point at the Library entrance and ask to register.

You will need to bring

  • A letter of introduction from your teacher or Head of Sixth Form, written on school/college headed paper. This letter must mention you by name, and be signed by hand (not a stamped or photocopied signature please).
  • You will also need to bring photographic ID, such as a passport or student card

Find a book

Near the entrance you will find the Helpdesk with staff who can help you get to grips with the Library and locate the books you need. You can search the Library catalogue when you are here, but it is a good idea to look online before you visit to make sure that the resources you need are available.

Photocopy

Although you cannot take books away with you, you are welcome to use the photocopy machines. Photocopy cards are available to purchase from the Library for £3 with a bank or credit card, please note that we are unable to take cash. If you have any questions about your visit, please email us: library at warwick dot ac dot uk.

Alternatively a lot of students take pictures of pages from books on their smartphones.

Wi-Fi access

You can access the University Wi-Fi on your mobile, laptop or tablet with a Warwick guest login. Unfortunately, you need to have a University account to use the computers in the library.
