Connect

Being active is a great way to connect with others. Whether it’s playing sport as part of a team or receiving a friendly ‘hello’ from another dog walker in the park, when you find connection it provides a sense of belonging and community which is key when it comes to mental health.

Be active

Being active is so important for maintaining good wellbeing, but it doesn’t need to be particularly structured. As long as it gets your heart beating a little faster, something as simple as walking, dancing or even cleaning the house can be classed as activity.

Aim for a minimum of 10 minutes to gain health benefits, and if you’re looking for something to get you started why not view our health and wellbeing events and courses.

Keep learning

Setting challenges and learning new things can help improve your confidence, enhance muscle memory and inject some fun into your day.

Joining a group, attending a course or picking up an old hobby are all great ways to increase self-esteem and reduce stress and anxiety.

Take notice

Many of us underestimate the importance of taking time out away from work, social media and other demands on our time and attention. Making time to catch up with a friend over coffee, practicing gratitude and being more mindful everyday can help improve your mind set.
