Archery success for Team Warwick

In the Warwickshire County Championships on 18th June, a team of Sherman Ip, Hannah Burnage, James Jeffs, and David Richardson took the team trophy for Warwick, as well as a number of individual medals:

  • Hannah Burnage - 2nd, Ladies Recurve
  • Sherman Ip - 1st, Gents Recurve
  • Daniel Prinsloo - 1st, Gents Barebow

Emma Davis, Hannah Burnage and James Jeffs represented Warwickshire in the National County Team Tournament on the 24th and 25th June. The ladies team (Emma, Hannah, and one other) took home silver. The gents team (featuring James) finished in the top 10 out of 22 teams.

The European Commonwealth Championships were held in Portsmouth on 1st July, where Tom Hall and Emma Davis both represented Northern Ireland. The team won the overall Recurve competition without losing a single head to head match all day - the first time Northern Ireland has ever won this tournament! The gents team also won gold and the ladies team won silver (awarded off the ranking round in the morning rather than the head to heads). Tom finished 3rd and Emma finished 4th individually.

All in all a very successful weekend!
