I'm a second year PhD student in the School of Life Sciences based at Warwick Crop Centre, Wellesbourne. My research project is focussed on understanding in-field variation within commercial salad onion crops in order to enhance yields and quality. My PhD is being conducted in partnership with G's Growers, one of Europe's leading fresh produce companies, as a part of the Waitrose CTP.

Prior to my PhD I studied for an MBiol, BSc in Biology at the University of Leeds. During my final year there I conducted my MBiol research project under the supervision of Prof. Peter Urwin (Plant Nematology Lab), as well as a smaller project with Prof. Paul Knox (Plant Cell Wall Lab). During my time at Leeds I developed a strong interest in food production and sustainable agriculture, which was further enhanced when I undertook a summer research placement at Harper Adams University in the Fresh Produce Research Centre in 2015.
