Pathways to Law Success Story

One of our Pathways to Law students, Harry has recently been accepted onto the Eversheds Unlocked Academy, a highly competitive programme which will provide him with support through Year 13 and his time at university. The programme offers students work experience, a mentor and guidance on getting a training contract. Harry has been a wonderful student on the Pathways to Law programme and excelled at both the academic and soft skills sides of Pathways. Here is a note from Harry on his recent success:

'Pathways to Law has given me the opportunity to develop my skills and pursue a career in law. Through the programme, I have had an insight into the different aspects of law. Engaging and networking with experienced and highly knowledgeable professionals. It has given me the opportunity to gain access to the profession. I was able to attend lectures by top academics. I loved some of the other events that I took part in; this included mooting, negotiating and debating. A trip to London and a week at Warwick were my favourite things about the programme. Pathways organised a three-day work experience placement with the law firm - Eversheds at their Birmingham Office. Meeting with partners, trainee solicitors and clients gave me the passion to want to continue with law and developed the skills that would be useful in a legal career. I have since been offered a place on the Eversheds Unlocked Academy. This is a four-year programme, where I will gain an Eversheds mentor who will guide me through my final year of A Levels, my time at University and will steer me on the correct path to a training contract. I will be attending quarterly workshops and will be given a further work experience placement. All of this would not have been possible without Pathways to Law.'
