In Memoriam - Queen Elizabeth II
The University of Warwick joins with communities around the world to express our deep sorrow at the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
Like many universities in the UK, the University of Warwick was granted its Royal Charter of Incorporation in 1965 by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and our flags are at half-mast to pay our respects and honour her memory.
WMG supports unique community project inspired by Daniel Lismore
The WMG Outreach and SME teams, at the University of Warwick, were pleased to lend their support to the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, for a unique project inspired by Coventry artist and campaigner, Daniel Lismore. The gallery hosted a series of masterclasses challenging local community groups to create their own mannequins using the techniques and skills adopted by Daniel in his recent exhibition ‘Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Taken.’

Professor Dieter Wolke from the University of Warwick’s Department of Psychology will be bestowed with the rare accolade of an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Helsinki.

Our new Faculty of Arts Building opens its doors
Thank you to everyone who came to the official opening of the Faculty of Arts Building and subsequent FAB Fest celebration on Friday 20 May. The afternoon was a wonderful example of engagement and creativity as we celebrated all that is unique about the arts at Warwick and establishing our commitment to raising the profile of arts in our community and making it accessible to new audiences.

The University of Warwick and University of Waterloo Announce Collaboration on Esports
Representatives from University of Warwick (United Kingdom) and the University of Waterloo (Canada) are exploring ways in which each of their flourishing esports activities can be enriched by trans-Atlantic international collaboration. One area of focus will be the upcoming Commonwealth Games which will be hosted in Birmingham UK this summer, with esports included as a pilot event during the Games.
Clean Transport Accelerator launched by NatWest and University of Warwick to help SMEs fast-track their innovations
With transport being the largest carbon emitting sector in the UK, a partnership between NatWest and WMG at the University of Warwick has led to the launch of the Clean Transport Accelerator. It will support businesses which are part of the mobility sector to develop products and services that will play their part in achieving the UK’s net-zero goals.
Update following an incident on campus
Yesterday there was an incident at Sherbourne accommodation on campus. Three people were involved, and it resulted in one of them being taken to hospital with what are thought to be non life-threatening injuries. The individual is in a stable condition. The incident was isolated, it has now concluded and the police are investigating.

New business Accelerator hub to support and empower students, local entrepreneurs, and local business owners
NatWest and the University of Warwick are opening a new business Accelerator hub on the University’s campus, with the focus on supporting and empowering students, local entrepreneurs, and local business owners to grow their businesses. Applications are now open for local businesses and students to join the first cohort, starting in January.
