Are you interested in studying with us? Registration for our summer 2024 Open Days is open. The Open Days will give you the opportunity to visit the department, where you can meet our staff and students, attend talks and have the opportunity to go on tours around our department. You can also take a look around the University campus, see accommodation and what sports and societies are on offer.
Work commenced to host the 1.2 GHz NMR spectrometer
In May, building work has begun in preparation for the UK’s first 1.2 GHz NMR spectrometer. The spectrometer is funded by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and will be provided by Bruker, with some additional MAS probes from Phoenix.

Welcome to term 3
Monday 22 April marks the start of term 3, we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back and wish our students well during exam period.
Professor Sandra Chapman attended the European Geosciences Union (EGU) meeting to receive her Hannes Alfvén Medal.
On Tuesday 16th April, Professor Chapman was presented her award at the annual EGU meeting in Vienna with over 15,000 people in attendance. Sandra also gave a lecture titled ‘Multiscale matters: when coupling across multiple scales drives the dynamics of solar system plasmas.’
Professor Don Pollacco awarded £3 million European Research Council Grant
Congratulations to Professor Don Pollacco who has just been awarded £3 million from the ERC to develop a ‘digital telescope’ that will be capable of producing a highly sensitive continuous movie of the night sky.
Professor Steven Brown publishes new book chapter
Professor Steven Brown, alongside co-authors Les Hughes and Helen Blade from AstraZeneca and Pat Szell (former post-doc at Warwick and AstraZeneca) have published in the Royal Society of Chemistry book entitled 'NMR Crystallography in Pharmaceutical Development.’
